Since July 2012, the State Board of Elections has made available an Online Voter Registration (OLVR) System. From the Board's website, voters now can register to vote in federal, State, county and municipal elections in Maryland. They also can update their registration to reflect change of name, address, or party affiliation. Additionally, Marylanders can register to vote by completing a voter registration application at the State Board of Elections, any local board of elections, local department of social services, local office on aging, or at one of the following agencies:

In Presidential Election years: held on 4th Tuesday in April (2020, 2024) (Chapter 332, Acts of 2015; Code Election Law Article, sec. 8-201).
In Gubernatorial Election years: held on last Tuesday in June (2018, 2022) (Chapter 169, Acts of 2011; Code Election Law Article, sec. 8-201).
In even-numbered years: held on the Tuesday after 1st Monday in November (2016, 2018)

Next municipal primary election: June 26, 2018 (for circuit court clerk, orphans' court judges, register of wills, sheriff, & state's attorney)
In Presidential Election years: held on 4th Tuesday in April (2020, 2024) (Chapter 332, Acts of 2015)
In Presidential Election years: held on the Tuesday after 1st Monday in November (2020, 2024) (Chapter 548, Acts of 2012; Code Election Law Article, sec. 8-301).
