GAMING PERMIT REVIEW BOARD

The Gaming Permit Review Board regulates gambling in Charles County. The Board reviews gaming regulations and procedures and, at least quarterly, gaming permit applications. It maintains a list of all approved lessors of gaming devices and premises for gaming events, and records the gaming permits that it has reviewed.

To the County Commissioners, the Board recommends what types of gaming devices may be used in the County; which gaming permits to approve or deny; and how gaming regulations and procedures may be modified.

Appointed by the County Commissioners to four-year terms, the Board consists of seven members (Code Criminal Law Article, secs. 13-1101 through 13-1115).


BOARD OF LICENSE COMMISSIONERS

The Board of License Commissioners regulates the retail sale of alcoholic beverages in Charles County (Code 1957, Art. 2B, sec. 15-112).

In Charles County, the Board's five members are appointed by the County Commissioners to four-year terms (Code 1957, Art. 2B, sec. 15-104).
