Annual Report to Governor due June 30.

In October 2007, the Forensic Laboratory Advisory Committee was authorized (Chapter 147, Acts of 2007).

Since December 31, 2011, all forensic laboratories must be licensed by the Secretary Health and Mental Hygiene.

The Forensic Laboratory Advisory Committee advises the Secretary of Health and Mental Hygiene on promulgating regulations that set standards and requirements for the operation of forensic laboratories in Maryland.

Ten members constitute the Committee. The Governor appoints eight members, and two serve ex officio (Code Health-General Article, sec. 17-2A-12).
