Advisory Board, University of Maryland School of Social Work, 2006-07. Past president, Advisory Board, Salvation Army of Central Maryland. Author of articles in Baltimore Sunpapers on the elderly, community organizations in Baltimore, and zero-base budgeting. Legislator Recognition Award, Maryland Association of Counties, 1993.
